Plan for NG & NPG Visit

Tomorrow I will be visiting The National Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery to try and find the painting that I will be using for my Styling Project. I am quite daunted by the idea of these galleries as they are absolutely huge! Furthermore, there is so much amazing work, and although I am extremely familiar with both; I feel as if when I get there it will be overwhelming.

I know from my initial research that I want to re-create something quite classic, and bring it forward into a modern time. Nevertheless keeping some key things the same.

With this in mind I have created a list of key things that I want to keep in mind whilst I'm there:

  • Colour - Possible colour pallets and how they will translate.
  • Character - Interesting looks, keep people in mind that I could use who I already know.
  • Costume - Important to bring into a modern context.
  • Era - How to move away from the original and make my own.
